Unlike other engines, Xubl is tightly integrated with Alias Maya. Migration time and consequent expenses that burden game development are becoming progressively significant with the ascent of the nex-gen techology.

if you can afford it...

This is another engine with PRT (pre-computed radiance transfer). This creates real-time illumination similar to "Radiosity / Global Illumination". The Reality engine also uses this technique and so Unreal technology will have it as well since they bought Reality.

This engine is absolutely great For Maya users. Even users of the learning-edition of Maya will have fun. But commercial projects will take lots of money. Maya takes 7,000 and this engine will cost several thousands as well.

epic brought the reality engine? they've wiped out 1/10th of their competition then. Would've cost them a packet, but then again, they have a packet from the prices they license their engine for!

Yes. Reality was cheap. It took only 7,000 and it was really next-gen. This is probalby only 1 percent of the U3 price. Could have become a serious competition to Unreal so they wiped them out.

It was / is a modern shader based engine, uses C# for scripting and has best of the best rendering technology applied and lots of fantastic artists to support it.

But this new zootfly engine could also become such a competition if it renders fast and stable. We will see.

If it really offers a free non-commercial version then artists will jump into it like moths fly into the light
This is the same concept as GarageGames does with the free Constructor. They try to attract artists constantly creating new screenshots in the world and then they might get more customers at the end.

I dont usually add game engines to my bookmarks, but this one looks promising. I wonder how much the commercial version will cost, did anyone see a price?

But again ,

if you can't produce pro looking textures, normal maps , level architecture ,
and i don't talk about characters ... work on textures , lightening, 2D art ,
3D modeling , rigging, animating , etc ... you can't imagine the hours of work
if you' re not a complete team

I think expensive engines are for skilled teams that can pproduce fast
amazing 3D things. But if you can afford it , and if it's workflow is really fast and great , why not ?
