Hiya.

Question: What's up with the USD / Canadian being 1.15 to 1.00? It should be about 1.08 to 1.00 (or lower, the way our dollar is rising). Doesn't Share-it use the daily "currency rates"?

...I just checked the price from A6 Com to A7 Pro (799 us). Uh, it's even higher...it's pegging the exchange rate at about 1.17 to 1.00. Or, about $933 Canadian. Looking at the correct exchange rate of 1.09 (just a little lower, at 1.0875), the 799 should turn out to be 870...or, a savings to me of roughly $60.

Can someone explain this or look into it? I'm reluctant to order if Share-it is just gonna make up their own exchange rates...

Share-it guarantees to update its exchange rates daily. Thus a wrong exchange rate is very unlikely.

Any currency has two exchange rates, for buying and for selling. Maybe you looked at the wrong one?

Hiya.

(I replied yesterday...but my internet connection died just as I hit "continue"...)

I do know about the buying/selling rates. Looking at the Share-it site for A7 upgrade (from A6 com to A7 pro), it says 799 US. It says that is 955 Canadian. This is incorrect.

From...

$855.888 = http://www.x-rates.com/calculator.html
$855.05 = http://money.cnn.com/data/currencies/
$855.97 = http://www.bankofcanada.ca/en/rates/exchform.html

(Oh, last night I was getting about $853.00. So a price jump of about +$2 using online exchange, yet Share-it has decided to increase from 933 to 955...a +$22 using whatever method they are...sounds a bit fishy to me...hmmmm...)

I'm thinking Share-it is doing something really wierd, or trying to pass on expenses to the customers of it's resellers (I hope not! O_O ). Maybe you guys should look into it. Do some tests yourself to see if you are getting what I am.

I'll ask share-it about their currency rates.

Share-it told me that they add a small fee to the USD->CAN conversion for covering a "transfer risk". I have to agree with you that this fee seems unusually high in your case. I suggest that you order in US-$. You credit card company will also add a fee then for the conversion, but it's usually 1% and thus smaller than the share-it fee.

Hiya.

I thought they were doing something like that. >:( They should spell that out when you do the order; list it seperatly.

Yeah, CC in USD seems to be what I will have to do (1% is quite a bit different than 17.5% o_O ). Hehehe...it could be funny if the Canadian dollar surpasses the US dollar; I wonder if they will give us 17.5% off if we order in Canadian then...

Thanks for looking into it.
