Hello

Is anybody using Power Render engine ?
Normally I hesitate to advertise other engines, stability and ease of use, being the most important issues for me while advanced features come after
Consequently , in my opinion, people should have a rather long working experience with the engine before writing a review
I make an exception for Power Render
This engine supplies a lot of features and even a model and level editor.
Scene management is based on Octrees and BSP
All the most important file formats are supported
It is not expensive

The programming langauge is C++ and \or Angel script ( an excellent scripting language , same as B.V.)

Morover the designer has over 10 years experience with game engine development so, all the most annoying bugs should have been ( I suppose ) already fixed

Nevertheless it is almost unknown

Just a poor marketing or what ?

The coding in C++ is more complicated than Ogre3D , for a simple thing
there was lot of lines of code , well ,
if i had choice between that and Torque i would Take Torque !

And i had problems with their tools for exporting from 3DSMAX,
no real game projects with it.
BSP is old nad the demos i've tested showed me , it will not handle easily a complete game (shaders, animated people, lot of grass , trees , LOD etc ....)

they announced a great new engines for some years , with top notch screen shots , today , nothing , the advertisement ,forums ahev been removed , and some people who have baught a pre license can only cry

It's only a money making for the author i think in it's past time !

But who knows , perhaps PR 7 will be very top , less complicated to program ?
(i doubt)
well i'm waiting for screenshots, caus nothing have been posted in their forums , and after that A COMPLETE NEXT GEN DEMO (shaders, characters, graas , lod
interface etc ... all running smoothly) !

The last release is january 2007 , it is stiil alive
Actually the game architecture is not so straightforward but ease of use and flexibility sometimes do not get along

"Wot? C++ is more complicated than Ogre3D? Interesting."

Try Irrlicht and you'll be amazed by it's simple code !

I don't have checked last release : V6 , but i've looked at code and seems to be same as V5
with memorty allocation and all ver low level things to do.

Well ... i' not not going to battle anymore ... for a 3D engine !

But let's wait for a real complete demo to see FPS and after that i'll look
at their code if it is hight level , or if we again need to make initializations
and another stuff that could be done by a call to a function.

Like always let's lonewolves game makers ,
wait for A7 , PR7 etc ... and promising features ,shaders tec...) that won't make the models and textures, design .... for them

(But people having a team and real project i think won't wait anything and are totally at work , and not in forums a lot )
