I was thinking
it is possible ( or already exist) an shader\effect that animate the skin ?
I mean,
image to put something 10 or more different skin in your model , each with slight variations.
If the shader switch the skins ,one every 1\12 seconds , the skin of the model would looks "alive" and pulsing.

If possible use a translation/scaling matrix.

Switching the model's texture:
You can do that with materials and material event functions.
