Hello

I would just like to ask how to create a circular helix using the Map Editor. I am just starting, and so far I've only had the idea to make a 'blocky' helix using boxes and ramps.

Thanks in advance.

An easier way to do this would be to design it in MED or another model editor.

Unless you're looking for a sprial staircase, there is a prefab for that.

Code:
void main()
{
    cout << "I am MrCode,";
    cout << "hear me roar!";
    system("PAUSE");
}

Okay. SO either I use a spiral staircase prefab or make it manually... sure, thanks. Perhaps I should also ask about how to do it in MED too..

You could make a cylinder, scale it as the larger size, then duplicate it at the smaller size, then use "csg subtract" to cut a hole from the bigger block with the smaller block. Then delete the smaller block.

levelgeometry is definitely not the right way to model a helix in gs (or any other bsp render engine). the only reasonable result can be somthing like this:

(if this is what you are looking for contact me via mail and i will send it to you)

everything else more round or complicated is veeeery hard to create. you should use a mdl instead. either in med or other model editors like milkshape, blender aso.

cheers
