For some reason, and I cannot quite put my finger on it, I really like what you have done so far. It may be that I am just a fan of the Zelda series, but the feeling of the game is just... right. I really like the camera control with the mouse, it adds a good level of control and player awareness of your surroundings. I also like the graphics... though they may not be finished, I like the cartoony feel, which is how Zelda should be (especially this title).

Now for what I feel is incomplete, which you make take with a grain of salt, as this is most likely a very early demo. The fact that you have to stop to swing your sword is a drawback, and will hurt you when you actually go up against enemies... its also just annoying . Also, the fact that you can directly walk backwards does not hold true to the Zelda movement style. If you are going for authentic Zelda movement, the player should rotate and, relitavely, be going foreward again.

If you ask me, the one feature that you should impliment that has never before been seen in Zelda is the ability to jump. Weather or not it would work I dont know, but I have always wished you could jump in Zelda.

Anyways, that is what I think at the moment. Good work and thank you for the demo.

Regards,
DeKO_Mania

That's "oracle of ages" and "oracle of seasons" on the gameboy color. Ages had a feather which made you jump and Seasons had a kangaroo named ricky who could jump you over holes and stuff. (There was also a flying bear and a swimming ... dinosaur). Those where the best zelda games I've played, the red and blue version for gameboy color. (Especially the connection part between the two which unlocked all kind of secrets, and a whole 'new' world. it was so neat ).

Also, on the second Zelda game made, "The Adventures of Link" which was on the NES after the original Zelda, Link was able to jump. I do really like the graphical style this project is heading.

Wow! You have some major polygon issues there.

I think the feather was also avaiable in "Links awakening".

I didnt like the jumping part. I prefer no jumping in action adventures sometimes.
It just creates more riddles...

@jostie,
ages and seasons were the best games you played of the zelda series? D:
Go play link to a past! thats the best 8D and ocarina of time and windwaker and twilight princess.

I didnt like ages of season at all... they were so weird.
i loved minish cap that was so funny but the endboss was so damn hard >_<

Lol I dunno, I just like them alot. I haven't played them all, actually only the very first one which you could play on DOS pc's, the one on the NES, oracle series on gameboy color and majora's mask on N64 which I like as well but not as good as the 2D-zelda's. So I guess I like 2Dzelda more than 3D .

I thought oracle of seasons was kinda weird too, yet I liked it and my friend owned that one so not really my concern. Oracle of ages was somewhat more challenging, timetravelling is more cool than seasontravelling and I like blue over red...

Oh yeah, you could also put that cardridge hacker thing in those NES games, fill in some passwords and be able to do lots of things yo normaly couldn't do in the NES zelda like jumping very high. This was the only way I could solve the 8th castle puzzle (with the flute between the 3 rocks) :[ ...

WTF?
the NES one IS the very first one..
its NINTENDO.. they would never build for any other system.
they rather die and close the whole company than making games for other systems
