There is a new Lawmaker build with a huge amount of new functions like painting foliage at terrain.

Im actually going to send for a possible testdrive for this engine, it certainly looks promising and priced right.

What i like is all wizards/panels to do things without programming
in 3DGS to paint foliage and all others things : you need to program a tool !

3DGS should follow example and deliver more tools instead of lot of new functions each time

Well good news

No you don't.

Yeah, you're right. @jcl: Forget all those new features. We want you to create a 2D paint program editor for 3DGS. To hell with progress and new features, we want Paint.

From the credit page in manual, jcl is the engine developer, the tools (WED,MED,SED) are create by other people. So I think Conitec should hire more people to make tools, or even buy the company who make tools.

That is funny: I made this info very short, no comments, no judging of mine, nothing to complain for you fan-boys. And nevertheless you start the same fanboy-war. What is wrong with you boys? Or is it just one single person, called OrangeBrat?

This is just an objective information for you.

Im still confused about this engine. On the one end it looks like a really powerful engine, but on the end hand it looks very one tracked towards fps. The screenshots also dont impress me that much. From what I have experienced and seen, it has an amazing toolset which we can only dream of, but Im confused as to what we can do with that toolset, and how capable it really is of doing everything I want it to do. I know with GS I can just about script anything. Time will tell. They promised a tech demo right?

Capanno: I also think this engine is not made to create another Tetris-clone (painting foliage will not be very helpful then).

For making casual games it is better to use Blitzbasic, 3dgs or Torque Gamebuilder. The Torque Gamebuilder will be the best bet to create any kind of 2d-games and if you want to make a modern and visual competing fps, rpg, racing-game or 3d-adventure then you might check out Lawmaker.

Just choose the tool that meets your needs.

Thats true. Pick a tool that suits your needs. The problem is I can't afford to buy different tools for different types of games! I guess thats just life hey?

As a hobbyist I really don't like their price structure. Also after my email and the promis from them to get back to me, i'd never heard anything anymore. Guess i'm not important enough because I didn't wanted to go for the high $$ license.
