Then you have to raise the lightrange...
Always learn from history, to be sure you make the same mistakes again...

Hi, I'm still stuck on this problem. Here is a Test-Level I setup to show you the effect: Test Level (with the template-free-camera to fly around) So I can lighten models in unlimited range but create shadows only in ~2000 quants distance of a light????? Because of scaling issues I don't want to shrink my whole scene. This can't be true! *** Please help! ***

My version is 7.04 pro... I added a published version to the archive. and here is a screenshot of the problem If this is a bug/limitation of 3DGS - is there an alternative way to produce shadows? I'm actually looking for some technique to visualize a visual sensor and I need some kind of 'vision-shadow' (in german: "Sichtschatten"). thanks in advance for any suggestions!

easy enough...
Because of the angle of the light and then gun meeting floor, the shadow is very far to the right. I believe shadows are only cast a certain distance. Check the manual for something like "shadow_range".
Also, make sure that the far models aren't being lit by another light. I'm using A6, so I can't test this...

well, you can test it with the published exe in my archive there is defenitly NO shadow at a certain range... the manual says lightrange is limited to 2000quants... OKAY BUT: this seems to apply to shadows only, not the lightning.
