Thats not a story. Thats a scenario at best. There are no characters to speak of, and its really not more than an excuse for running around and shooting things. Plus, we all heard it a million times before.
So, as far as the "story" goes, that won't make me buy the game. Who knows? Maybe in the game, something will happen that make the whole story-scenario-whatever more interesting.

On to the gameplay, then! So far, it's... interesting. It's not the innovative, "ZOMG-how-cool"-style gameplay, but its not finished, after all. The graphics are very bland. I guess you won't go for colorful, as that is not cool enough, but then, use cool lighting effects and add details. Right now, its just grey blocks with crates and yellow creatures (who kinda look like Gorons from Zelda, I might add). Also, the framerate seems to be a little low, but I guess thats due to the video. Gameplaywise, its running around, shooting things, did I get that right? So far, its like SuperMarioBros (from 1985, no less!) with guns. So why should I play your game and not SuperMarioBros? What the game is missing is a defining element that only your game has. Something that eliminates all the competition, that makes me say "I can't get game X instead".
So let's be a little creative and think of something. Looking at your scenario, we realize that the whole thing is, apparently, nothing more than an elaborate attempt to achieve high television ratings. Then why does the game look so different? By implementing a few things, you could make it feel more like a television show with the goal to entertain the viewer. Add a narrator - either try to make him (or her?) sound really cool, or give him a cynical voice.
What else could you do? Make the camera more exciting. Right now, it just moves with the player. Yeah, that works. But its not EXCITING TELEVISION! So zoom in on the player, tilt the camera to show where the rocket I shot hits and things like this. Make it dynamic, but don't overdo it (don't confuse me).
Show statistics, and don't be afraid to show random statistics. Player destroyed block no. 34! Things like that. Don't show them everytime, but it will mix things up and keep it interesting if I learn these kind of things. You can also combine that with prizes that I get whenever I pass a milestone (I destroyed 100 blocks, killed 40 enemies, jumped a distance greater than 500 m... be creative!). Show replays whenever I achieved something cool, or use splitscreens to show the action. Give randomly designed challenges to me (beat all 15 enemies! Move to spot X in 30 seconds!), that I can accept for a healthbonus or something along these lines. Add a combosystem and let me know if I score points by creating huge numbers on the screen. There are many things you can add to make it seem more creative, more dynamic and more fun. All in the name of entertainment

(Could you edit your first post and add a title to it? "no title" is not really telling much
