Hey guys i was busy working on a game that finally shiped so i found
some free time to paint a new skin for my older lich model.
You can download the Model on my site : http://basilstudio.com/
- for free.

I also created a small tutorial while doing the texture.

So be sure to check it out!

Lots of thanks! My browserwindow had been to small,so I didn't saw it.
But as you wrote, the mdl7 file has a mistake,a not removable hull is around the modell. So I imported it as x-file,but the modell has no skin.Don't know, whether it is possible to skin the modell with the included jpg-picture.

what program do you use for skinning? is that photoshop? i really need to work on skins.

My Famous Quotes: "Hip hop is like a virus, infecting everyone and everything around it. Every form of media has some way, shape or form, assimilated hip hop into it." It has also mutated into other strains like, trip hop, house, rap, gangster, and conscious forms. Once you are infected with it, its with you for life."

Thank you a lot for this great contribution

Since I'm a huge fan of shaders and other eyecandy, I've made an attempt to generate a normalmap for the monster. It didn't work out perfectly, but maybe there's some other shader freak who wants to use normalmapping too and is too lazy to do the 3 clicks to generate one, but rather does 4 clicks to download the ones that I've generated ^_^

Ultimate Normalmapping Shader, 1 dynamic light, one normalmapped and one untouched model. And if you can't tell the difference, don't even touch my normalmap, unworthy fool

And here's the normalmap + specular map for the alpha channel.

The normalmap really just looks like the photoshop plug in for normalmapping, but used a little in the wrong way.. o.o... the plug in is maid to be used on a hightmap, so you will have to paint a deep map of the skin and use the plug in on that, or else no detail will really look like they are real details, and the specular mapping looks like a black and white version of the real skin, you should alt lest try to make the non specular parts to be darker...

I like the original model and skin ^^, really detailed to be that lowpoly and with that texture resolution

if your not making the normal map from a super high poly character then why even bother ? it's completely useless. The character is very good quality , thnx.
