This is more of a useability issue than a bug.

FBX is motionbuilder/kaydara's format for character animation. Motionbuilder fbx characters have control rigs which always face the Z-Axis. Although fbx is useful for other things as well, I think it would be a very good option for MED's fbx import to have a face-the-x-axis option and a scaling percentage option, so that it isn't necessary to constantly rotate and re-scale the character after each import.

Could be related to the problems, discussed and solved in this thread:

Ask Conitec: issues with fbx import or something

I believe, you can use:
MED Menu:
Edit->Scale model global
Edit->Transform model global

Thanks Wlad,

That worked.. it's good to be able to do that.

But seriously, conitec, from what planet did that interface come from? Those two tools need *serious* user interface improvements.

First, there needs to be an update for scaling, so you can see the change in scale on the model as you change the value in the number box. Second, the interface for transform global is completely perplexing and counterintuitive.

In both cases, I have had to work blindly, changing the values, hitting okay to see the results, then hitting undo, trying again, until I got the result I am after.

I'm glad these tools are there, though.

Ups. Think I mixed it up. Can't find the post which I tried to answer to, though!
