I have known it would be like this since they started talking about them, its obvious the wii is going to have the earlier dollars because of all the ingenuity, and its obvious that would fade out, especially now that the ps3 is starting widen its game library. that and the six-axis controller starting to be put to use will be cool too.

Publishers didn't think the Wii would be the hit is was (lots of talk about it being VRBoy-2 ). So they didn't budget for games. Now they are rushing games out as quick as they can (and most of them look it ).

Also, where the PS3 and XBox360 are just PS2 and XBox upgraded, the Wii is something completely different. They can't just sell upgraded games on it, they have to come up with something new (publishers hate that ).

oh! I play Wii daily. well I would, but at the moment its under repair.
but I love the wii.
I love games like eledees, sonic and the secret rings, paper mario etc.
I think I will love mario galaxy, metroid prime 3,super smash bros, RE: UC, zack and wicki.
at the moment, every month comes out one game for the wii that I really wanna buy. this month: metroid, next: mario galaxy, december: zack and wicki.

I mean COME ON!!!... I don't need more games every month O_o I even don't have the money for more
its more like the gamers doesn't know that THERE ARE good wii games.
they should stop waitong for a "nintendo" game.
play eledees(elebits, play sonic, play zack and wicki.
thise games are great, fun and got good graphics (except elebits ^^).
at the moment, I own the following games:
- zelda ( its zelda, for me the ebst zelda of all time)
- rayman (nice in single player, boring as hell in multiplayer)
- super monkey ball (very nice single player, terrible multiplayer)
- excite truck (exellent in single player, so'n so in MP)
eledees/elebits (very good use of the wii controller and fun too, never tried MP cause I heard its more terrible than monkey ball ^^)
- resident evil 4 (never wanna play the gamecube version again!)
- sonic (frustrating at the beginning, pure god at the end. MP is so'n so)
- wario ware (its ok, but I liked the DS version more, MP is sometimes great, sometimes unplayable)
- Wii play (hate it, absolut boring at no fun at all. only the cow racing game.. for ten minutes)
- Wii sports (good to show to someone who never played with wii. but I got better games to play ^^)

I missed to gams that I still need to buy: paper mario and mario strikers.
so I got seven real games and two minigame games. I still need two games and going to buy metroid prime next week.
that are 10 games. the wii is out for.. how long? 10-11 month. I really don't think thats bad.. I played all games to the end (never did that before on every other console) because I enjoied it so much...

that video from "thestreet" is just BULLSHIT.
abslut BULLSHIT: it's das typical "jumping on the media-bandwaggon. a study and japan said that many of the wii owner doesnt play the wii anymore. NOW "the street" jumping on the bandwaggon because they know that the people will talk about it.
if you are german I will only say one word: "BILD".
its nothing more than that.
if you don't play the wii, maybe the console isn't for you.
MAYBE you should stop saying "there are no games". then maybe.. but just MAYBE you will realise that there are games, fun and good games. just stop the waiting.

I hate the current generation, cause they are all for "the waiting". someone calls that "hype". you are wait for some games you don't even know if they gonna be good. you say "oh I wanna buy mario galaxy in november", passing by sonic and other games, cause you don't see them. you wanna have mario!
"there are no games = where is my mario?!?!?!"

and stop that compare [censored] with the XBOX O_o
the xbox360 is over 2 years old. of course it got more "good games". but in a year, Wii will also have those games.
xbox360 sucked in the first year, the good games, everyone is talking about, started with gears of war. before that: nothing.

ok, I'm finished

Actually, I'm probably not the "real" gamer and in no way am I representing anything other than a single user from the Wii-userbase. This sentence serves as some kind of disclaimer, which I assume might be handy in case of console-wars starting (its probably only a matter of time).

First of all, I'd argue with your definition of "good" games, but then, thats probably also a matter of taste. As a somewhat random example, I recently tried out Wario Ware again and it was still super-crazy-fun. Of course, the fun is mainly because you look like a complete idiot doing it, but it still is crazy fun. I always like the dancing-minigame, although some people would argue that it looks "totally gay", or whatever it is fanboys say on the internet.
Aside from Wii Sports, which was already mentioned, I also like MercuryMeltdown (yeah, so thats a port, but its still fun) and Trauma Center (which, I would assume, could still be counted as a remake), even though I didn't even try these missions with the difficulty being "Extreme", given that even on "easy", some missions are far from a cakewalk. But using the defibrillator is still great fun.
Then there is Paper Mario, which as usual, has some great humor to it. So, in summary, I'm quite content with the console. I agree that there could, should be more games for it and that there were and are times that I don't play games on it, but that would be the same for any console.

However, with games like Super Mario Galaxy (it screams "awesomeness"), Brawl (although I'm not that much of a Smash-Bros.-Fan, it's still great fun with friends) or Zack&Wiki (a retarded name, sure, but it does look great (although difficult (then again, thats what we want in adventures, right? (well, maybe not always)))) on the horizon, I'm quite happy to have that little white box. Plus, the promise of "WiiWare" is great and very promising

Now, whats really horrible is how bad the situation in Europe is. Waiting plenty of months until the games come out here is not so much fun. Thats something I'd love to see changed.

Perhaps this post will get me points for originality at least.

Check out Dungeon Deities! It's amazing and will make you happy, successful and almost certainly more attractive! It might be true!

Confirmed

My personal thought about the Wii is the same I have for the N64, the games available for that platform aren't the games available for the PS3 or the 360, it's just about FUN and multiplayer. Just look at SSBM on the gamecube, I've had that game since the beginning of the gamecube and I still love to play it everyday with friends so my guesses are that SSBB will not be different qua entertainment factor as his predecessor

Cheers

Frazzle
