Well I think for that price you should go for Silo. The only thing that makes this interesting is the animation capability...

Enjoy your meal

Someone should test it and comparing its features with the ones of Fragmotion and Miikshape

Really looks outdated !
I use Blender (modeling,UVMap,3D sculpintg like ZBrush) ,animation,
normal mapping baking etc ....
Adn it's free !

Paying for such outdated ? pay Silo in that case !

Just my advice !

Well maybe you still talk about Silo V1.4 because in the new V2 version UV-mapping (i.e. the unwrapping algorithm which does most of the work now) is very good...

Enjoy your meal

I owna Silo 2 and just can say very very good

The universal manipulator (scale, rotate, move on one widget)
si so so so usefull i find , lot lot of time gained :
no need to select scale, rotate or move mode : all are under your widget

for UV Mapping , they 've done lot of additions since 1.4 , now it's really powerfull and make you win lot of time in UVMApping.

I'm wiating for descent videos showing how to make a normal map from a hihg
res mesh to a lower
this is the weak point : no solid videos , docs for that

The retopology to make fast a low poly version from the highter is a strong easy tool , i really like it

In fact it's easy

when you move your mouse over the high polygon to draw a face, each time you click to define a vertex of the face you are defining ,
the vertex glues to the surface of the high polygon version in some sort.

It's like you were sliding vertexs along the surfaces of the hight poly version.

Try to find some tutorials or explainations on google

I'm not remember : Blender do retopology ?

Well you just draw lines on your model and create your new control mesh this way. Just have a look in here to get the idea:
http://www.silo3d.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2727
http://www.silo3d.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2940
http://www.silo3d.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2680
http://www.silo3d.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2440

It's really nice though I wouldn't recommend to use it for doing a low poly version - in most cases you're better off with remodelling that. It's great to have individual control of a high poly mesh by a more or less low poly mesh you can create for yourself...

Enjoy your meal
