1. what Files does Softimage support? WED (the leveleditior) only supports .wmp and .qle levelmaps.
2. It's possible, but difficult. And i don't know, if it's possible with the trialversion...

@russel: Are you investigating for Juuso? Gamestudio V7 has become very powerful compared to its predecessors (most people have a prejudice about this authoring suite). Projects with a sort-of collaborative "gameplay" are realizable, though, you need to rely on some available 3rd party plugins like networking (RakNet for instance).

xsi (i have only the free mod tool, so i can only refer to this) supports collada export via crosswalk, you could transform your collada file to fbx with the free autodesk fbx exporter. or just export it as 3ds, obj or x, import it in med, and set lights etc. all in wed. i doubt you will get multiplayer to work in just 30 days. i don't even know if it's possible with the trial, correct me if i'm wrong. it is possible to create client/server applications which is the idea of mp gaming. however, the level must be present on all clients in any form, if you don't want the client to view your content, pack it (CRPack or 3dgs pro version packer). just "logging in via browser" is no feature of 3dgs, however, i remember it to be relized through a java plugin i just can't find atm. search the forums. but if you are aiming at "browser gaming" or sth like that, i'd have a look at another solution, for example //ad starts ShiVa/Ston3D which is an affordable, next-gen system that supports gaming right inside your browser, cross-platform, for an affordable price with hq nextgen features. full collada support, you would be able to use xsi+crosswalk. you will need an indie and server license. free PLE version available, also free server PLE for dl to test mp capabilities. //ad stops

Thank you very much. So far I have managed to get a XSI scene into wed. I exported it from XSI as an .obj file than converted this into an fbx file. Only problem: I loose all textures and when using the Walk Through function I can walk through the walls. I don't want to use the 30 days trial to finish the whole project. I just like to test it. If it fits my purpose I will buy the pro version. I am doing an investigation for someone, but not for Juuso My question about the server/client setup was, because I want the users to be able to alter the level, by placing different objects which they should be able to select from a given list. This changes should be visible to every user instantly. Russel

Its possible to have models or map entities created / destroyed and placed in a level thru script , but not instantly There is always latency, but I dont think thats an issue to you. It shouldnt be hard eighter , if you go thru the MP tutorials carefuly paying attention... The only thing harder in this (and you should give it some toughts before you start) would be the saving of this 'world' if you have many objects and if you use properties like transparency for example.
