This is some work I've been doing the past week or so.

[removed by poster]

The game screens are still wip and have to get some changes. I have to say I'm enjoying myself.

Those icons/screens look pretty fun! If you were going for a bright and a happy feeling, then you got it done pretty nicely! Btw, is this a casual game you are working on?

These are graphics for a toy site aimed at younger kids that they can use to indicate their interests. the site also includes a lot of simple casual games.

I had to pull the images as I just got conflicting info on posting samples of my work. I'd going to check with someone higher up to be 110% sure its ok.

Well if there is a mod that can delete this post great - if not no problem. The list of how and when different art work, done for different clients, can be shown is too complicated to navigate. I can safely show it portfolio in hand but otherwise how and if it can be shown is conditional by client, and even within that by release dates and then some of these clients further license from other people like Disney bringing more requirements .... anyway just wanted to show some of my growth over the few months since I graduated but guess I'd better do that with personal projects.

I was thinking I might start a little side project drawing some inventory items people could use for rpg games but after a quick test I think drawing a library of 50-100 items would take a lot of time. So here is the one experimental plant -don't eat it, might be toxic.

Heya bupaje, yeah that happens all over, all my commercial work has always stipulated non disclosure as that is for the client to employ.
Bit of a shame as I cannot add any to my portfolio untill they have published them first if they allow it at all.
Makes heaps of sense from a commercial point of view though.

I hear you and it does make sense. Just that after 6 months I finally feel like it isn't a dream, and I'm really working as an artist. After so long talking about it I feel like showing what I can do - like a kid showing his parents his first crayon drawings. If I get some free time during the holidays I'll try to post some of my own stuff. Anyway even though there are some boring assignments here and there I'm pretty much having the time of my life.

Just as a small follow-up to all my annoying posts about school and art over the past year ... I pitched my first animated children's show to the company I work at. They liked it. We are moving forward with preparing a full pitch bible and I'll be meeting with everyone involved on the first week of January 2008. They want to present it during the Kidscreen Summit http://www.kidscreensummit.com/index.php?_c=1 in mid February. I'm excited, hopeful and terrified. I know from experience it isn't a good idea to get too excited about things when there is still so much road to travel but I can't help but hope that this will be the beginning of something good for my family.

You already met a company that likes your project and supports you?
What a fantastic start!
I wish you soooo much luck!
Don't forget to tell us from time to time, how it goes!

Thanks, I will. With any luck next month I'll have some news to report. I'll also have to see if it is ok to post art as we go - going to have to follow the advice of those with more experience on that as I don't want to run the train of the tracks somehow.
