So far, I find it generally easy to create terrains with lightmapping using earthsculptor. However, this approach is pretty useless when I try to use a combination of geometric buildings (either blocks or models) and terrain, as blocks don't cast shadows on terrain. I know there's a way through this using gile and vents plugin, but im pretty sure you can also use 3ds max (which I can use as well). However, I can't figure out how to use that and export the mapping with lightmaps successfully, so Id appreciate if someone could help me out there. Also, if there are any other tools that would help, please let me know! thanks.

Hi,
use Shadowmap Generator, you can find it in the AUM-Resource (WDL & DLL).
I mix the lightmaps in a 2D app.

Oh cool, thanks for the help. I've checked it out, and I still have a few problems:

What if say I wanted to lightmap a model room for example? The lightmap generator only seems to work for 'square models' or terrains.

What about static lights, apart from sun? I guess you could change the position of the sun for each light to make a seperate lightmap and then mix them all together, but tbh that seems like a bit of a pain.

Anyways, I guess this will be fine as a lightmapper anyways.
