I have a small sound file that I can't get to loop properly with the new media_loop instruction. It loops and sound perfect in Goldwave, as well as with the old snd_loop command in the older acknex. But in the new acknex, as well as in the windows media player itself, I can't get it to loop without a small pause at the end.

How can I make a nice ambient engine sound then?

If anyone wnats to try, it's only 3k, and it's RIGHT HERE

Thanks

(edit) - BTW, it used to be a 52k 16 bit stereo sound, I cut it down to a 3k 8 bit mono sound because I thought it was too big, but no dice.

(edit #2) - I just tryed snd_loop with the new acknex and it works great! Would Conitec consider not completely replacing that instruction? It seems to have less overhead associated with it.

That's a small bug I've noticed too and Conitec has promised to fix it in the near future. Use snd_loop until then - that's what I do.

Thank you George, that's exactly what I did. Now, I looped the file with my Windows Media Player and get the exact same result as media_loop. A small pause at the end.

What I'm getting at is if it an MS problem, maybe they really can't do much about it? Hope not, but I'm glad they left the snd_loop in for us.

You are welcome. Don't worry, JCL will fix the problem.

As a side note, media_loop is intended for large MP3 or OGG files, and not for playing small engine sounds. You should definitely use snd_loop for that.
