Hello, i'm a beginner with game studio, and i have a question about doors.

I am using GS7 the 'old A5 template', and i have created a model with the door event, and a model with the key event. But the problem is, the key works fine, but i can't assign it to my door.
If i don't pickup the key, the door will also open, and this must not be possible.
Hope someone can help me, thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum.

The door and the key must have the same id. If you assign the door function to the door, there are several parameters you can customize in the behaviour pabel on the left side in WED. There is a field, where you can change the key number. When you place the key mode and assign the key function to it, you must enter the same key number as for the door. I think it is also explained in the old manual, but I actually can't remember where.

I know it must have the same ID and that, but if i go to the behaviour of my door, it doesn't show a skill for my key. It only shows: Endpos, Forge, Trigger_range and switch. The other skills does just show SKILL# (number )

EDIT: ah, i've found the answer, i've imported the wrong door.wdl script. It is working now, thanks
