I'm back... wow... After 3 years I appear out of no where with a screen shot of a project i'm working on. Actually some how my password was reset and I didn't know it... so I had to contact Conetic to manual change it. This sword is being rendered in Blender and will be a weapon in my project. It will be a long time before you actually see the project but i'd like to get some comments on some pieces of work. 3D Render: (Still being worked on) The drawing:

can we see some wireframe renders? It looks like the handle is waaaaay too high poly (or maybe even nurbs?). nice sketch though, but nothing really special so far. try adding like a cool effect to it regards,

The form looks good which is because you had a nice reference picture But mind that the rendering qua visual quality will be different from when using it in the A6/A7 engine Cheers Frazzle

and i doubt that they had the technique to make metal round like that. it's just swords always have hard edge handles in reality
You made a very typical assumption and I understand where you're coming from. Way back swords were not so smooth... but...
It is a fantasy game.

Well I do understand how important poly count is in game development. I have worked with 3DGS a long time now... and know the difference between it and Blender.
This actual render is for the title menu background... It is not the actual in-game model. Although, the sword itself is a key object in the game.

It's all about sense of imagination mates... Seriously, I do understand where you're coming from but I am not trying to design this realistic super-great-awsome-best-selling game. It is just a fantasy story... It does not have to be perfect and meet real life standards. Who thinks about a handle being comfortable in someones hand when making a video game anyway? Now take a look at this... try holding and fighting with this in real life... ( but yet, this is still an awsome game) Any who... Here's an update of the sword itself. Complete, just the way I want it for the render... which will be used to create the title:
