there is one big problem with that keyboard for me...
i can't afford anything but the cheapest of the cheap, cause every once in a while i happen to --accidentally-- split some tea over it and i need to replace it with a new one

yep, same here

@topic:
well it looks like a really neat idea, but personally, i gotta say that i would really not be interested in buying something like that. i do not play games very often, and the few that i play are controlwise so easy that i get that down in the blink of an eye.
neither do i do a lot of programming and/or game design at the moment because i am really busy with school...
i can see that if you are using a lot of program it will make work easier for you, but actually - they keys look incredibly uncomfortable... they are like huge and the led screens (so i think) would just not feel good under your fingers...
i'd really like to know how heavy that thing is... looks like it would be about the weight of a monitor (not good to take to LAN parties no no no no...)

off topic: the guy who presents this looks really nerdy... (and - damn - that girl is hot )

I see a backlit wifi keyboard on Microsoft.com, maybe that was inspired by the LED keyboard?

Yeah, spills are big prob for me 2 (so what happened to the plastic coated keyboards?) and I certainly cannot think of a reason to own such a keyboard except for novelty.

Plug-in Game play keyboards on the other hand may intice me more

Then again with 4eyes you can look at the screen and the keyboard at the same time...

True, I hardly ever look down too, hadn't thought about that. I've also noticed that lights on a keyboard isn't always practical, but can be distracting. Take for example the G15 logitech keyboard.

I personally loved the G15... the thing was built like a beast. Unfortuantely, I spilled soda on it and pulling it apart to clean it involved over 40 screws and 4 layers of casing . Not much luck cleaning it all out... replaced it with a Logitec S510. Wicked nice key weight and a very thin keyboard. Plus the mouse has excellent response time.

True, it's definitely a great quality keyboard. I would probably buy it again if it would have a slightly bend keyboard lay-out like some of the Microsoft keyboards have for 'extra comfort'. (It actually works because you won't force your wrists into unnatural poses whilst typing.)
Because in my opinion that's probably the only real flaw the G15 has, it's somewhat prehistoric key lay-out,

Cheers
