Ok, so I finally finished my game and published it with WED (I have A7.05 commercial) and the publish works fine except for a model which it left out but I put that in manually and then it was all right. I played the game on the computer I developed it on, and then put it on a memory stick and tried it on another computer. The startup screen appears and the screen goes black like normal, but after like 1 second it totally quits with no error message or sound!
I had tried a previous version of the game on other computers and it was almost identical, but I had published it with A6.5. I'm fairly sure that all files are included because it works straight off the memory stick on the first computer. Does anyone have an explaination?

What I remember in some projects was that with certain models the engine crashed without a error message, but i'm not really sure what was causing it? Have you tried to start the published game with -diag command?

Don't know anything about the computer you are using for testing the project. So I can't tell what the reason could be. My best guess is something wrong with a model in the level. Try to replace the model with a dummy and run the game again.

so how do you use the "-diag" command line to start a game on a computer without 3dgs installed? I've never heard of this before...

Just make a shortcut to the game executable and edit it's location: gamename.exe" -diag

D3D, I tried what you suggested and it seems that the location box in the shortcut's properties is un-editable. The target box is editable and it already contains gamename.exe" but if I try to add the -diag command it cannot find the orginal location.
Felixsg, The other computer has at least directX 9 and I also tried it on another computer running vista, so I'm assuming it could also run my game. If directX is the problem, though, would it be possible to include the updated driver with the game folder?

Sorry by the delayed, you can include the update file in your game directory like "D3DX9_34.dll" I think you need only "D3DX9_30.dll", but you can make this for sold the games, microsoft not permit distribuite thats files along you need to include the directx installation
but for personal games (for friends) I think you can include only that dll along if you like to sold you need to include the directx installation

Felixsg: True. The end-user is required to verify Windows license before installing DirectX 9.0c updates. You may include a link to MS website with current DirectX redist though.

Impaler: When you can not edit the shortcut I think you do not have enough rights on the system? There is another way:

1: Press START | EXECUTE (windows taskbar)
2: Enter the location to your game.exe* and press ENTER

* If the game is located inside C:\MyGame\Game1\Game.exe, enter:

C:\MyGame\Game1\Game.exe -diag

You can find the acklog.txt in C:\MyGame\Game1\ it looks like this:
