Curious, if a person sells a game, say one that had 40+ *enjoyable* hours of game play, strategy based, and a decent/bearable story line, how much could they sell it for? How would that go about selling it anyway? Would the game be sold to a big company or would I, creator, have to actually market it and such.

Assuming: A) English, possibly translated later
B) No multi player support
C) Single Player
D) 100 or more playable character classes/races, as well as hidden characters
E) Say game sold for 30$ a pop in store?

That really depends on how popular the title appears to be, not as catch 22 as it sounds actually.

To determine this, use popular portals that offer game demos for player assesments, never use a game developer forum or site, only player sites.

Then determine how many actually go to the site per day compared to how many download the demo per day to get your popularity rating.
As a rule of thumb, 100 downloads equals 1000 potential purchases of which a target market of 1 to 2 % can then be set to be your actual realisation figures to go on.

If there are discussion forums on these sites, check them out and even participate.

Then set your price and choose your method of delivery, the easiest being your own portal with your demos on the normal portals being your point of client clontact.

Without any such research, $5 would be my bet
