Second showcase forum?

In the poll on the announcements forum, the majority of users required a second 'professional' showcase forum, so here it is. This forum is for ambitious projects in professional quality only. I leave it up to you to decide whether your work belongs here or in Showcase I, but please choose wiseley.

I don't understand, what do you mean by professional? Professional like the game Mafia or professional like the game Lost Idols for example?

There can be different opinions about when a game is 'professional quality'. Here we mean games that are clearly above amateur level, are suited to sell and have reached a certain state of completion. Mafia and Lost Idols both fulfil that criterion.

Oh so putting a game that is currently in progress, even if it is making great progress and looking absolutely great, wouldn't fit in this forum?

I would suggest to use this forum for games that have reached alpha status. Meaning: where the playable level (=including game ideas not only walk or flythru levels) also shows the gameplay. Like RPG need a characrer system, shooter need working enemies and a weapon system...aso.

Post here only if your game is "playable" and has a alpha level to show.

my sugestion

Ummm... I think what JCL meant is if you have a finished project and you want to post your screenshot that you had made, you just start a new thread and show them your screenshot and tell us about your project you'd made. Plus, you can post a link for everybody to download a demo, if you have a webspace. If you don't have webspace and you want to post a demo, you could sign up for a new web hosting service (I had signed up with UpLinkEarth.com). The first showcase (Showcase 1), is where you can show your screenshot about your unfinished project. You could, for example, post your demo in Showcase 1 and tell them that this is in a alpha/beta stage and the project is not finished.

So, in Showcase II, whem JCL mentions "professional projects", I think what he mean is a finished project.

I think what he meant by professional is that the games posted here better not suck big time...or the moderators will remove it.....
