Biyu Biyu Rocket! www.bbrocket.com / Beta Trailor!

Biyu Biyu Rocket has been making tons of progress latelly.. We also have found a publisher, Dreams in Motion Productions, Inc. / DIM Entertainment. Visit our website, www.bbrocket.com to check out some new screenshots and the pre-beta trailor demo! (Note: The final trailor demo will be much differerent). The site is also a place holder until our webmaster kicks in!

Just a little preview...

You should have made that clear from the beginning. Your first video was called a trailer, so I assumed the new one was a trailer too. If it's a sneak peek for the community, then that'd a different thing altogether, and I will be glad to register for it.

A sneak peak is precisely what it is.

For me it was the motive for registering is unclear to me the person submitting the personal information. Am I going to get more spam in my email, what will be done with my registration, those are factors that I was unsure of. You are being sent to their publishers site, how is my regisitration going to be used by that publisher.
In return for my registration I get to watch a video. That was not enough incentive for me. I would register for a playable demo level, but not a video.

You can take my word from it, no spam or anything related will be sent to your email. The only possible information that might be sent would be to download the demo a little bit ahead of the official public release. (Of course with your consent).

BBR looks like a great little game so I am interested.

Thank you.

I hear you. You should never register for anything where usage is not specifically spelled out. Further, since this registration is an actual redirect, I too would be suspicious. But the principal of registering to get something, wherther it be demo or trailer, is not an absurd one I don't think.

Aint no thing. Just didn't want my singular comments be attributed to the community in general.

I don't want to bug anyone, but a trailer or sneak peak (seems all the same to me, although quality can be different ) should be meant for commercial purposes, right? To promote it, right? Why hide it behind a forum registration, nobody want to sign up for anything 'just' to see a little movie!? BTW My email adress is getting way too much spam anyway, so that's why I watch my steps more carefuly now No offence to anyone, but a fact is a fact... Even if I know that this community in general is very very very (can't say it enough) reliable, but.......

Anyways good luck with your game, and I'm looking forward to it..

The idea of having to sign up in order to view a trailer is ridiculous.

I think Gamasutra, Gamespot, and Gamespy would all disagree...

Yeah, but they have a good reason for it, because otherwise they can't manage the downloads anymore and their site would be almost constantly down; they have plenty of visitors everyday. Seems to me like a whole different story

Point is that this is not a ridiculous practice with no basis in the real world, that's all. Not comparing those entities with BiyuBiyu, not at all, though those same reasons given could be applied to biyubiyu or biyubiyr hosting company.

Again, my only point is that asking for registration to get something, even as "trivial" as a trailer, is not absurd in the least bit as was originally posited by another(s).

its not absurd but it makes people like me simply not doing it. I am not posting because i think the idea of aharing information this way it wrong. I am just statign that you will miss a huge percentage of interested users this way (like me).

I see it this way: Its like having to show your personal id or passport at the backery arround the corner, just to see what kind of bread they are selling (and please dont tell me know you would do so )

And comparing a library archiv like gamasutra and kind (that offer newest stuff without registration in the first week anyway....maybe a reason ) and a product website of a game doesnt work for me. You are neither an information database or library.
Tv commercials and stuff are first not free (where i live i have to pay for my tv every month) and anonymous. Your login procedure is customer database filling and therefor anything else then anonym.

Maybe you offer two version of the clip now?
A small test preview and a large one that requires a login. Then people might be interested (but still a huge ammount wont download it...but i guess better then nothing )

"Do you have any bavarian cream filled doughnuts?"
"I'm sorry, but I am going to have to see some id."
"Oh, here you go."
"I can't serve you. It says here that you are not of legal doughnut eating age."
"what? @#%$@&!"
