Some fire on the gas station would look cool I think. Would give it a scary look. Gas <--> Fire, see the connection?

Finally getting code back together from the switch from level geometry to all-model. It's finally playable again and I am starting on new additions. Just set up a new song playing code that changes songs through out the level. The game is once again playing real smooth even with all the shaders.

I got me one of them there game pads yesterday, programmed it for The kID. Woot! It works great and I can kick my feet up. Those game pads are the bomb. Even has a little fan in it to keep my hands cool as I pummel the hounds. lmao

I love your guys work, especially the gas station and the dogs(at least i think thats what they are, sorry were) Just one small question, what is the advantage of an all model level?

I think I will Fuxer answer that one, heh.

He was mumbling something about textures in .wmp files and there are other advantages too, mainly to do with shaders. Of course, there are many disadvantages too, i.e. no engine rendered shadows on level geometry, culling is more difficult since models are culled from their origin, not their bounds, etc.

Fuxer, why did we do this again?

I think it was because it just looks so darn groovy.

eheheh loco.i will reply to that.
Ok i'll write a list of advantages.
1)a building modeled has less polys than a building made in wed.
2)a building modeled has uv mapping
3)you can use 1 512x512 texture to fully texture a building not 5 or 6 256x256 textures to texture a wed building.
4)we dont need dynamic shadows in the city level as when its a foggy day, shadows are not visible,we will instead bake them to the texture for a more real look.
5)buildings modeled render faster
6)hope i didnt forget anything

Hehe. yeah it takes about 2 seconds to compile levels no matter how complex they are.

Hey Fuxer, I really need that starter level. Our transfer died with 6k to go yesterday.
