First of all, I did not have any problems downloading the file. I didn't check the speed, but in the beginning it was a almost 80 kb/s (my maximum download speed).

Now the beta.
There are some problems with z-fighting in some places, but you probably know where to find those places.
Next, there are some places where texture smearing occurs, so, some polys are not properly uv mapped.
Last, please use higher res textures, some textures are really pixelated and unsharp.
Oh yeah, the view distance could be a bit further.
Edit: The camera is irritating indoor and in narrow alleys.

The game looks promising. Just repair those bugs, add more eyecandy and a good story.

Edit2: I have only found one indoor room, the one by the hospital, couldn't find the other one yet.

Performance was good on my system. Load times were not to bad, gamestudio loading screen about 20 to 30 seconds. GMsoft 15 seconds. Levelloading under 10 seconds. Fps was on average about 50 to 60.
Specs:
Intel centrino 1,7 ghz
1 gig RAM
ATI Radeon 9600 Pro, 128 mb.

Neither have I, but I downloaded it a while ago...

Most errors will probably have been found (I think all of what Sjoerd has listed has already been posted in Beta Testing Discussion on the kID forums) But hey, nothing ever perfect eh? Lol.

Yes the camera is irritating in some areas and its under construction still...

And the other indoor place is the bar where you start at.

Performance is good on better video cards, usually stock cards like mine will run at 15-20 FPS which is horrid, plus many errors due to the fact that the geometry is models (I was able to see through many places)

Also, there is level scaling errors still existing Loco, that I believe wasnt in the beta testing discussion. I'll go post lol...

Good job Loco, hope you dont mind I explained some stuff...

Jimmy died, today, he blew his brains out into the bay, in the state of mind, its my own private suicide. A stitch in time saves nine... what the hell does that mean?!?

Yeah, I think Loco and Fuxerz know these errors, but I wanted to point them out.
I also found a funny scaling error:

I think I was a bit negative, just pointing out all those bugs. I see great potential in this game. I don't know the story, but I am sure you guys have a good one.

Heya Tom,

I didn't forget about you. I was uploading a .zip to see if that would help, but a wind storm came through with about 5mb left to upload, of course (dang that Murphy and his laws), and took out my electricity for a couple days. I will try it again tonight.

Hmmm... Sjoerd, I get the feeling that you don't think he can make it through that door.
Thanks for your input, and we are aware of those problems and are will be working on them. The view distance is the only one that you mentioned which might not be changed, for FPS reasons, but we will see after I go back through the code and see how much FPS I can pull out of the magic hat.

There is about 30% of the code that has not been utilized yet also, code pertaining to things like cutscenes, path cameras, interacting with special objects/items, using items, etc, that until the demo story line is final and the new main character's animations are complete, cannot really be implemented. The story line is in no way shown in that beta, it's mainly the just the ironing out the foundation stuff.

And as a special announcement, I am going to be bringing in my English (relocated to the USA) friend who has worked on titles such as Disney's "The Lion King" and most recently those silly weather prediction programs you see on the news (which in Kansas are about 10% accurate), to help me with the programming, since he tried to retire like I did once, but he couldn't stand not being in the action. I think they call that addiction. He will be cussing at me for weeks about how it should be done. I will try to ignore him as much as possible, but I am sure glad he is onboard. We work well together, not unlike the two kids in the backseat of the mini-van on a long trip. Fuxer will be saying, "Don't make me come back there..."

I am really considering having him do some SDK work, especially with A* pathfinding, and alot of shader work, just to get even with him on what he made me do the last time I worked for/under him.

Loco

Limey is now relocated to New York and is ready to get busy. I have about 4 days of free time, so after a few months of downtime, we will be going full steam ahead again. The artist have been on vacataion for a few weeks now, that fuxer guy and marin, but they will be back soon if they are not in jail somewhere.

So The kID should be moving forward quickly again toward the actual demo.

I am sorry Tom, I haven't been able to get a .zip uploaded for some reason. I will try again tonight.

Loco
