Legendary Sword (RPG): Public Beta / Demo

Hello!

It is with great pleasure and nervous anticipation that I bring you the public Beta / Demo of Legendary Sword.

This RPG was inspired by the classics of the past, but includes unique features and modern graphics. Although technically first-person, you control three characters as you explore dungeons, terrain, and cities. The game includes an intuitive inventory system, pathfinding AI, a tutorial, and interactive environments.

Instead of going off on a marketing monologue, I will let the game speak for itself. Our goal is to make a game that you will enjoy. We are very interested in hearing your feedback, bugs reports, and suggestions!! Believe it or not, we are very open minded about making changes!! Please post comments at our forum: http://www.dreams-in-motion.com/forum/index.php?c=7&sid=68ab4db2ef71229d89a122e5faf78c56

This demo was a major undertaking. I’d like to thank everyone who worked on it, and Dreams In Motion for making it all possible. I’d also like to thank the Game Studio forums. Without you, this game would never have happened.

Get the demo here!

Here are some screen captures of the game. Larger captures are available at www.niolden.com.

Wow, that looks impressive.
Too sad I can't download till sunday (I'm on ISDN here), but I'll try it when I'm back in Regensburg.

Simply fantastic. Some things that detracted from an otherwise good experience:

- I thought the field of view was much narrower than in most games.
- When I tried to speed the intro text up, it skipped the text entirely.
- It might be nice if I could change gamma settings.

Minor elements, all.

ok, first impressions after going through the tutorial and running around the sewers for a few minutes (will give it a more in-depth test later today):

Pros:
-Getting used to controlling three characters was fairly easy and intuitive.
-The inventory system is excellent, again, very intuitive and user friendly.
-The auto-attack mode worked very well, it's nice to play a game where my AI companions can actually be trusted to not get me killed

Cons:
-Having to hold down the right mouse button just to look around got old FAST.
-Saving took longer than necessary. The screenshot system is visually appealing, but on my system it just took an annoying amount of time, to save (we're talking seconds, but still...)
-Why does Tarrin speak with a male's voice?

Overall, the game looks very promising, the gameplay is innovative yet user-friendly (except for the complaint regarding the camera), and the graphics are excellent. Looking forward to spending more time with the game
