Legendary Sword (RPG): Public Beta / Demo

Hello!

It is with great pleasure and nervous anticipation that I bring you the public Beta / Demo of Legendary Sword.

This RPG was inspired by the classics of the past, but includes unique features and modern graphics. Although technically first-person, you control three characters as you explore dungeons, terrain, and cities. The game includes an intuitive inventory system, pathfinding AI, a tutorial, and interactive environments.

Instead of going off on a marketing monologue, I will let the game speak for itself. Our goal is to make a game that you will enjoy. We are very interested in hearing your feedback, bugs reports, and suggestions!! Believe it or not, we are very open minded about making changes!! Please post comments at our forum: http://www.dreams-in-motion.com/forum/index.php?c=7&sid=68ab4db2ef71229d89a122e5faf78c56

This demo was a major undertaking. I’d like to thank everyone who worked on it, and Dreams In Motion for making it all possible. I’d also like to thank the Game Studio forums. Without you, this game would never have happened.

Get the demo here!

Here are some screen captures of the game. Larger captures are available at www.niolden.com.

Wow, really impressive. I like it.

But in one piece of the sewers, as i controlled the knight, the woman suddenly started to ran and knocked against a wall. I didn't move at that moment and she stand before me. I only picked up a heal potion.

Excellent game. I liked the atmosphere of the sewer and the textures. I'm not sure if you created the rat model or got if from a pack but up close it looks really good.

As far as things I noticed you've already noted the path finding for the characters. I found myself by myself at some very bad times. So I started constently checking to see if my party was following me. Also I'm not sure if I just missed it in the tutorial but how do you get into the inventory of a dead player? I ended up have the party member with the resurrect scroll die . It seems that the other characters should be able to access the inventory of a fallen character if they're standing over the body.

Also there were some torches on the walls casting light but had no flames. And the load game part of the sign post doesn't seem to work at the very beginning. I had to start a new game and then load my saved game. I also think that holding down the right mouse button to have a free look around hurts the game play. And I know the game isn't done but a different voice actor for each character would be good.

But I have to say great work. I can tell you put time and effort into making a good game and I think it's going to payoff for you. I was very impressed with the over all game and I look forward to it's final release!

Texture quality needs to be better.
The light rays are just random they aren't affected by anything.
Lightning is bad, seriously, you really need to fix the shadows and lightning, also when inside a dungeon you don't have light unless something is producing it, I couldn't find anything that was doing that in the game sorry.
Other than that, it's okay, pretty old graphics.
I'm only giving this kind of criticism because I went to your website and saw you are publishers.

I love the character models and the textures, but the things id like to see are:

- a toggle button for mouse rotating the view as well as the current holding button or for having a cursor (see freelancer)
- more models in the levels. a model here or there in the sewer would have made it look reaaally nice, mayeb even using them as the railings.

first off : This is all very professional quality.
It looks very nice, but some things do need improvement if you're planning to sell this baby
The models are awesome, but they need a better path tracking system (they keep getting stuck in the levels etc).
Also, the levels look alright, but can be a whole lot better (try using alot more models instead of blocks). The levels do have a nice atmosphere, but can be more detailed.
Furthermore, the game plays very good, I really like the inventory, and this game sure has alot of pro potentional

Keep it up!

Again I would like to reiterate Bret’s comment, this community has given us excellent feedback via the A6 forum, DIM forum, and even via e-mail. Please continue to let us know as we update and patch the beta/demo how we can continue to improve.

For the few who are having problems running the game or experiencing crashing, over the next several patches we will be offering additional diagnostic abilities to assist in pinpointing those issues. We will be posting information on each patch, which can be located at http://www.niolden.com/

Thanks again for your feedback.
