ConTer Demo RC2
hi out there! some days ago i released my winter contest demo. it's a completely finished, self-running demo with a flythrough in demoscene-style. at first, some screens: the first two are earlyer shots, the others are from the current release version. i think of handing it down to scene.org, showing 3dgs to the demoscene. please download it; give me comments and productive criticism. download herein the subfolder /doc you can find information about the contest entry and the license info. joey out.

Thats pretty cool, some of the shadows looked really screwed up though. Like you need to set shadow_offset or something.
I would add something to the scene, idea... Maybe a sheepherder and his sheep down in the vally, then as the camera flies around you can see them milling about. Just something to bring a little more life to it. Also, the clouds should move.
Making guns illegal will save as many lives as making murder illegal.

yes it is. i already shortened the black screens and thought it would be good that way. my problem is that i'm just about to start moddeling, thus not being very good. it would be nearly impossible for me to model a sheep . i know the whole scene looks kinda empty, and i have to add stuff like that though. thanks for your responses, joey.

hi, nice work. how did you make the terrain cast shadow on itself?

actually the terrain doesn't cast shadows on itself. i enhanced the diffuse map's contrast, that gives an illusion as if there were shadows on the terrain.
i'll be away next week, so i won't be able to respond to your posts in that time. though if there are any further comments or bugs i'd appreciate to know about them.
thanks a lot, joey.

Nice Demo. I like the camera movement. But it runs very slow on my pc and there is no multitexturing on the terrain. My gfxcard supports multitexturing, its old and must emulate t'n'l but it supports 8 textures per stage! so were is the multitexturing??? Is this one big terrain or do you split it in smaller ones to support lod stages??? I'm just confused because there is only one hmp in the archive and i thougt many smaller terrains are faster than one big.
