Running Food - Playable Demo

Hello all!

Some of you might remember our first demo, posted about a year ago. Well, we feel the game has improved quite a bit since then, so now it is time for another demo.

Those of you who were at the DUSMania 7 have already seen this - all others enjoy the 4 playable levels!

Readme is included, here is a screenshot:

And here is the link: Playable Demo

Have fun! Feedback is appreciated. :-)

Yeah thats a great game and I'm happy to see it progress! Your new "cubies" look cool...have you ever thought of applying an cubic-environment-map shader to the cube?

The models in the pic are placed in an empty level without any material.
They ought to look a bit better in game.

I already added a fixed function from Steampipe to the visible nodes in the levels.

I don't plan any additional effects at the moment, because I try to concentrate on level building and a sort of finishing, mainly focused at gameplay.

Thank you all for your kind replies!

I hoped to present you another short level with the already shown labyrinth of sommer gras, but I got guests, and probably won't continue before monday.

EDIT:

Sorry!

Your player models all look cool! You should include them all in the game

You should know me as the master of recycling!
But, to be at the safe side of law and order, I only use my own 'garbage' for recycling!

Female monster without 'fingernails'!

Rasta monster general!

I'm not very satisfied with the look, especially because of the colours of the stones and the gras texture, but I found a nice idea for the task in this level by accident. Youcan see how I filled the level from screen to screen:

I'm not sure if it's fog or the sky, but that grey looks kinda depressing. It's just a thought, but a brighter and blue sky would suit this game style better I think, or at least it's worth trying out.

Screens are looking good though. I don't think the textures are that bad. Perhaps the wooden walls could use a slightly better texture, but it does fit the overal picture. I would also try to let the game not become too bright, if you want to achieve better bright textures, perhaps use a texture which is lighter by default and use less light. Or perhaps use a darker texture with the same amount of light, not sure what would work better,

Cheers

amazing look pappenheimer, your levels have a very own unique look. although i dont like the gameplay that much, i like how you combine the almost photorealistic backgrounds with the comic look.

Thank you for your suggestions, PHeMoX! I didn't realize the grey sky.

Thanks, ulf, for your kind comment! I am still unsure about how much people are going to like the gameplay, and I hope that the kids and parents(?) who don't feel comfortable with the gameplay, still like to run around in the levels.
