The one knight stand - free short game
Hey everyone, My name is Lennart Hillen and I'm writing this post as a representative of Harrrrr Entertainment. We are 4 students who're following the newly established Game architecture and design course on the school "NHTV" based in the Netherlands. We're in our first year at this moment, and in the first 2 blocks we had the chance to work on a short game of our own. For 14 working days, we worked on this title, and I'm glad to say that we're happy with the result. So, See here... the fruit of our Labor; The One Knight Stand. The One Knight Stand is about a young medieval knight that "shags" a princess and wakes up in her bed in the King's castle. He has to escape unnoticed or face certain death for daring to defile the King's daughter! Also, We'd like to officially challenge everyone out here on the forums to try and finish our game. There are a few tough things in the game that might make you wanna kill yourself... hmm... so goood luck! Just a little tip: be careful not to get spotted by the guards, cause you'll have to start all over again due to fact that we're exceptionally cruel by not implementing a save function. Now, The following links might interest you: >>Watch a trailer here!<< >>Full game download MIRROR1<< >>Full game download MIRROR2<< And last but not least, you can find some screenshots of the game below: Enjoy! -Lennart Hillen -Rob van Hintum -Menno Kuyper -Riny van Malsen

very nice. Good quality. But the quest design isnīt very well. The window in the first level should look different as the other windows. For example slightly opened or blinking or something.
Getting the bunny working on the guards took me almost forever. Somehow I had to step directly in front of the center of the gate and then use it. If I was slightly left of it I couldnt use it even if the exclamation mark was still visible over my head.
Found two secret carrots whatever they are useful for. In the maze I gave up. I had no idea where I came from and where I had to go. Sometimes I even got stuck in a room which was caused by the moving walls where I couldnīt get out for a very very long time without beeing able to do anything.
The rest was good and some stuff was even professional. The splash screens appeared too often. Itīs enough if they appear once when I start the game. Not one more time.

Same here! Thanks ExCiter for the hint with window!
When I accidently hit the 'p' it paused, and I wasn't to change that, even shutting down the engine by 'F10' wasn't possible...
I love the voice! It's magnificent to hear this: "I got to get out of here! I got to get out of here NOW!"

Hey everyone! Thanks for all the kind words. It's nice to see that so many of you like the game. And yea, the game knows many flaws (pressing pause is one of of them lol), but remember that we only had 2 blocks (14 work days) to design and develop this game. It was pretty tough! Still, maybe one day we will take the time to fix a few of them (maybe even include a save function? ). Anyhoo, I can see that many are curious on the techniques I used to make my environments. Well... I'll gladly reveil my secrets to you guys... IF one of you manages to finish the game hehe. I can finish it in 15 minutes, so it shouldn't be too hard I figure So if one of you manages to do so, I'll tell u guys about my workflow on creating these kind of levels. Good luck! -Lennart

I had a strange side-effect. The sounds and voices in the game are clear and understandable. But the music and voice in the cut-scenes is broken with very low volume and only low frequencies. I do not understand any word.
The game looks funny but after a few trials I gave it up. The guards catched me even if I did not see them.
The game-play is good and you wrote a huge amount of game-logic. Very well made! It just needs a save mechanism and a few improvements.
