Hi all,
I am new to 3dgs and I have searched through the physics forums to see if there was some related to applying physics to a cape or a flag and I could not find anything. If I overlooked it, please someone point it out.. if i did not over look it.. please someone.. advise on the matter.

thank you all in advance!
Kendall

cloth physics are currently not supported, but physics engine will be changed... some day.

Its effectively a soft body which I know is too hard. A way of doing it would be a very complex realtime vertex deformation but htat would be hard to do to.

For some reason, my ambition always seems to beat my ability.

What about something with bones. set up kinda like a ragdoll? have the cape skined to the bones and then invisable objects that effect each bone? would something like that work?

i have though about that bone thing once, or..
attack a box dummy invisible but not passable that collides with stuff, and each box is at each vertex, and it will deforma the cloth.. so cloth is a passable entity but boxes are not..

the box will afect the rotations of the bone

that's how softbodies work, attaching small nodes or boxes to the vertices.

but normally it's about particles = just a xyz position and no (or some sphere like)volume. With normal physic-bodies it will be a _wwaaayyy_ too slow.

you're correct here, of course.
