Wow, thanks for all the feedback and comments!
(i didn't expect so much positive feedback to be honest
)
MUCH appreciated!
It is a pity that the turn movement isn't smooth as well!
I totally agree with you. Unfortunalley i didn't had the time to create a nice moving camera and add paths for it. Instead i had to manually move the camera as best as i could and make a video out of it. The camera rotation really s**** (Guess that's because of my shaking hand as a result of me not sleeping that much in the last weeks ^^ )
how did you do that grass? amazing?!
As already stated, this is just a tweaked fur shader. It toally works for this video and it also will work great for 3rd person or strategy games. However if you need grass for a 1st person game, this grass shader won't work for you. Actually it would look awful
Do you use a fur shader for the grass and static shadowmaps? Where did you find an article about such great fur
"Yes" and "that's right"
I threw together code from all over the net, can't point you to a specific website i'm sorry. The grass shader will be in the next version of shade-c so you can have a look at it. I'm also thinking of creating a fur shader which reacts to gravity. That should be very doable from what i can tell
Will you be showing these in one whole showreel to be sent to the universities or to be playerd during an interview?
I sent these videos plus some other non A7 things to the universities. I got two replies some days ago: So far 2 of 3 universities (3rd one didn't reply yet) like my work and invited me to a test/interview
I also have to do some kind of homework which i have to bring along to these interviews.
Abaut shadows - I'em verry impressed. What you use for tree shadows.
I just baked the shadows in cinema4d. They are just simple static shadows, nothing fancy
Again, thanks for all the comments! It really is a nice feeling when people like you work!
