Well, GameStudio does not run very well on my PC right now and I'm seriously considering buying a new 3D-capable notebook computer so that I can use it. More specifically, I'm looking at either a Toshiba Satellite or a Dell Inspiron.

However, both of these notebooks come pre-installed with Windows Vista, which leaves me in a quandary... Does 3DGS run on Vista, or would I have to look at an older XP laptop?

Despite contrary rumors, Vista is a fine OS. A7 has no problem whatsoever with Vista.

that's true. it runs well on vista. it's even better than on xp because sometimes you write shader code that can crash your graphics driver. while under xp your whole pc would have crashed vista just restarts the driver.

I can confirm this also, A7 runs perfectly on vista.

That sounds very nice

just try to make an overflow error in a vertex shader placing the vertices outside of the range of whatever limit. i don't know if that was the reason but it was a spectacular fight between a7 crashing my driver and vista restarting it... crashing, restarting, crashing... divisions by zero don't produce these results though. weird.

Indeed, A7 is perfectly compatible with vista ( yes even with the ultimate version wink wink )

Cheers
