I did not initially find the inkey() function documentation because it is in the string manipulation section of the manual instead of the input/output section. The input/output section would be a more logical place to put this.

And that's why it is in both sections, at least in my manual. I don't think your manual is different.
If you have difficulties to find something in the manual, and don't know where to look for it, you can use the search function with some keywords that describe what you're looking for.

OK. It is in both sections in the online manual. I wish that the downloaded manual contained the same information as the online manual, and I wish that the online manual would open up specific sections of the table of contents only when I clicked on them.
