So this is a first video of my mainmenu.

First you login into the game. When the login is successful, the camera will move on a path to the server selection screen (note, the video has low frames so its moving a bit edgy). When you reach the end of a path, the camera will shake as an "hard breaking". Kinda too hard to see in the video smirk

The streetsign represents the servers. It displays all available server and you can click on it to connect to the specific server.

Aftr clicking on it, you will go on moving to the hotel where all your created characters appear (i created 3 for testing).

Later on you will be able to click on the left and right to choose between mafia and police officer. It will bring you to the character creation place where you can design your character and save it.

Mafia Online Game - Main Menu 01

So i'm really tired and go to bed now. See ya.

way cool.

can you adjust the distance on the ssao? the characters have shadows all the way back on the buildings behind them.

i like the style, and will take your word for it that it's actually smooth in-game wink

Mafia Online Game - Main Menu 01

Okay.

Ah, I'm sorry, really, I am! But since someone has to add a bit of negativity in the mix, I guess I'll do that in order to make up for the fact that nobody ever loved me. I'm still a ... "fan", if you want to put it that way, of your projects and your style, but precisely that is what bothers me about this project. May I elaborate?

First of all - it looks good from what I can see. The cameramovement in the video is really extremely jerky, and it hurts the whole thing a lot, but I'll take your word for it that it actualyl runs a lot smoother. Then it's a nice idea to have the camera run around town, although maybe it goes a bit too much "crazy". But then, who cares, right? Nice idea! I also like the music. Why is there a yellow, transparent square around the mousepointer? It's probably a bug, and probably easily fixed. smile

Seems like you use only a few house models and repeat them - the very first scene, also visible in the first shot you posted, shows the same house twice right next to each other - try to avoid this kind of thing! Also, it'd be nice to see "town" everywhere I look, the camera-path often put us at places where we could see barren wasteland. No idea if thats your intention, since, obviously, I don't know much about Freeport - maybe those are required for muffinproduction.
Other than that, it looks really neat, though - can't wait to see the character customization!

But... you see.... well... The thing that I think of when I hear your name, the one thing everyone associates with you is, of course that you hosted all my games your crazy-art-style. Your biggest success, arguably, is hosting my games, again Angelas World, and its strongest point was its clear, powerful, strong art. It doesn't have to be black and white, but you do have a certain style, also easily visible in your "Art"-section of your website. But for some reason, this style is missing from all your 3D-projects. frown
I want to see these crazy semi-Tim-Burton-worlds in 3D, I want to explore with characters with different eye-sizes and unlikely proportions. I like your somewhat-sinister art that makes you wonder, or the super-cute (or is the right term "kawaii"?) art you sometimes do, but this mafia-thing is more the realistic, everyone-does-it kind of thing. The mafia-guy is, at least, something, but it's missing the usual Kiyaku-charm.

So call me a disgruntled, bitter, cynical ass, if you must, because maybe I just am one. All I want is just a bit more Kiyaku in my Mafia-online-game, okay? smile

Perhaps this post will get me points for originality at least.

Check out Dungeon Deities! It's amazing and will make you happy, successful and almost certainly more attractive! It might be true!

Nice rant and I agree, but at the same time I think we have to realize a 3D project takes a lot more time and effort to make great so to speak. grin

The level might still be just a 'test level'. So with enough time, this'll all work out fine I'm sure,

Cheers

Error, i'm always grateful when you comment about my games laugh

You are 100% right. The houses are repeating and the style is not mine.
But i can promise you those buildings and textures are for testing only. Everything will be replaced in the future with buildings and textures in my style. It's hard to make an angelas world look in a 3D game (especially if its not only black and white) and i made many thoughts about the style. The project is gonna be... well crazy, but it's just too early to show that.

The videos, screens and everything else that i post are of a very early project state. I'm ust a "showing stuff"-whore if you want to call me like that :P Also it helps me to get peoples opinion about the stuff so i know if im on the right way or not.

So again, i promise you, in the future there will be more of this "kiyaku" stuff.

Like Phemox said its just a test level yet.

Thanks for the comments! i appreciate every single comment and critique.
