I reported 2 or 3 bugs and they were always responded and taken care of, one was a real bug and was fixed in the next beta version and the other was a mistake by me. I dont have anything to complain about Conitec bug handling.

When you look in the bug forum you see that all bugs posts are taken care of and JCL either confirms the bug or if he cant he usually asks about details and offers help, and when you then dont answer I think its your problem and not Conitecs. I can imagine that a lot bugs posted are user mistakes.

Am I blind or just an idiot? mercuryus reported one thing (which in professional software engineering is not a bug btw. The program does the thing it is assumed to do, it is a design error) and jcl answered that he agrees with his opinion, that the project history should not be per project. What's zynical about this?

The last report he made was moved from Spirit out of the Bug section,
after that, mercuryus deleted the original content...

...because it's no fun to me if I try to make 3dgs getting better (I do - many here not) by posting bugs (whether a showstopper, a mayor bug, a minor bug or a design error) and the result is to be shifted to other sections (maybe to keep the bug section clear).

And as a candy JCL somtimes (not here but in others) makes ironic comments with this or moves it to "Starting with Gamestudio" without getting deeper in the problem - all that suffers and meanwhile I'm bored to post bugs (don't care if a mod understand or not)

I can see your point, no need for discussion about it.
We wont chancge jcls style of answering requests and posts here,
but if you would repost your bug/issue there is maybe a chance that it will be recognized,
maybe Spirit was wrong or the bug was just not a bug, we wont know until you repost it. wink

Oh well, I didn't know that. Then I'm sorry, I understand your issue. It was not a real bug though, but a justified suggestion of improvement and not worth to be deleted. You know that you're always welcome to help improving 3DGS. Without the user input, it would be far behind the status it has now.
And sometimes the opinion of a Mod is not Conitec's, so please don't blame Conitec or jcl for what Spirit did wrong.

Haha... good joke. Conitec should take care about mods. Conitec can not hire each kid for such a job.

I understand you perfectly, Mercuryus. I made very similar experiences. Spirit denied the shadow mapper bugs we had, even after several persons showed him. And he just deleted some of my threads regarding other engine updates (e.g. Torque) in the Tools forum. He said it would be advertising.

And towards checkbutton: He also often likes to execute the moderator job at will. Sometimes an insult is "freedom of speech" (quote of checkbutton) and sometimes he likes to warn or to ban. This seems to be a matter of taste or face.

Good moderators are needed to make a serious forum instead of a Kindergarden.

But anyway. If the majority likes this state then keep it like it is! wink

We are here to enforce the forum rules and not to answer bug reports. If a Mod does so, he does wrong.

I react when I see vulgar language or a direct attack with insults. Otherwise, I can't do anything (as you quoted, stating the opinion about somebody without any insults is freedom of speech), I just can ask to stop argueing. This is no matter of taste, this is a simple matter of the rules here in the forum.
