Hello, I have only just started using Gamestudio and keep getting stuck with things that are probably obvious to anyone who knows what they are doing...
one thing that is frustrating me at the moment is characters' skin.

Is there a way to import a character with it's skin already on???

I have been creating characters in Poser with hope of using them in Gamestudio, is this even posible??? If so, any help/guidance on how to do so would be much appreciated!

The models I have been importing are simply blue in MED!

Thank you to anybody who can help....

The best way I found is to export first in microsoft.x format.

Then you can import it MED..

Hop that helps

I would discourage you from using Poser models in your game, as they tend to be high-poly and sort of bad for using in games.

That's what the reduce mesh tool is for in WED. You can reduce the size and
still have a pretty good looking model.

But please not at an animated mesh. You will kill the edgeloops and the animation.

So this imports a fully skinned Poser character into MED? How do I export in microsoft .x format? It is not on the export option list in my copy of Poser 7. Do I then add bones and animate in MED, or set keyframes in Poser before exporting? I have been told a couple of different ways, none of which have worked for me!

Sorry can't help you there as I presumed you could export to ms format..

I use fragmasoft for my exporting basicly because it can import
almost anything and then I just tweak a bit then export to ms format then
import into WED.. It's also very cheap to buy..

Is there a plugin available?
If not try saveing the skin/s and then import the skin/s into MED after
you load your model..

So I've got the trial of fragmotion...but am still confused! what format do I export from Poser so that it will appear with its skin on??? None of the ones I have tried seem to work - unless I am missing something really obvious?!

I have managed to get the figure to appear skin-less but then when I import the skins I have no option of applying the limb map to the limbs and the torso skin to the torso....I can only select it as a whole. This is realy doing my head in!
