Make a hollow cube.

Insert another element. Here a light

Now select one of the blocks from the hollow cube. As you can see the light will vanish from our four views.

And no matter what i do, i cannot get the other elements back showing. I click at my light for example, all i can see is a short flickering of the panel. But the light stays invisible. I have to close and reopen WED.

I suppose that you are in the group level. You have to scope up.

You can see on the left side under "Level" that the light is placed under the root of the level, not in the Group. That's why it is not visible as long as your scope in within the group.

Sure. But i cannot leave the group anymore.

Ah, wait, there is a Scope to item in the right click menu. And indeed, here i can get my stuff back.

Hmm, confuses me a bit. Why do we need to extra click a scope item? Makes the treeview a bit obsolete then ...

The scoping actually helps a lot, especially if you have multiple levels, or too many rooms, just make sure to scope back to the root directory after

Hmm, looking from that angle, sure it does. But why does a click at an item that is outside of the current selection not simply set the scope back to the root of that item? Like in Windows Explorer.

Would be a bit time consuming when you in the Windows Explorer always would need to perform a right click at the next higher folder and select set scope to set the scope back ... .

But that is what we need here with the internal WED explorer smile
