I created a cube in Wing3D and exported it as a FBX and also a 3DS file. I then imported into MED, all looked fine, I saved as a MDL file.
I then used ent_create("cube.mdl", etc) to load into a simple level using SED.
The cube did not appear.
I looked at the size of the MED saved model and it was only 2.4KB.
Is there someting I am missing when importing FBX or 3DS models into MED ???

Thank you

i guess the last version of engine has some problems showing models without textures, try adding a texture and try again.

yeah, tried it now and models that dosent have any textures not displayed in engine.

add a skin and it will work.

--------------------------------------------------------

second possibility:

if your model has some skin and still not rendered correctly or not rendered at all, this maybe caused from your skin. see if changing skin to 24 bit works.

edit->manage skins-> select your skin-> skin settings->texure format->24 bit.

excellent, thanks.

1) Is this true for .3DS files as well
2) Is this a bug or a new development ?
3) What modeling software do you use, I find MED very hard work

my model was a simple cube with no skin
Thanks

Drac

1)yeah all models(once you imported them to med they are all same, right?)

2)bug, guess it will be fixed.(im not %100 sure if there is something new)

im not a modeller but
3)i use med for basic modelling, and blender for bigger models. For more complicated stuff... i can't model them at all laugh I had some 3dsmax educational license and was using it but i dont have it anymore. For character rigging i use med.
