This is the quote from the Gamestudio/A7 SPECIFICATIONS web page.
Quote:
Network & Game Engine
Save / Load system for resuming games at arbitrary positions
Multi-player client/server mode for LAN and Internet (UDP)
Multizone/multiserver support for MMOG (Pro Edition)
Expandable through DLL plugins

To respond to this:
Save / Load ------------- works simply with no clear way of modifying it.
Multi-player -------------- works sort of - crashes after 7 or 8 users in Pro version.
Multizone/multiserver -- We have been trying for 6 mos to get this working. We have email support with no help. None of the users on this forum know how to make it work.
DLL plugins --------------- We got this to work thanks to Quadraxas. The guys at email support didn't have a clue. We almost gave up on this engine at that point because I couldn't make it work, support was no help and without Quadraxas (A forum user) we would of given up then.
My question is:
WHERE ARE THE OFFICIAL EXAMPLES USING THE ABOVE FEATURES THAT DOESN'T CRASH?

I'm not trying to cause any problems I just want what I paid for and was promised.

PROTIP:
Conitec doesn't care.

"Seriously: We've planned an open network library interface so that users can use any network library, with ENet as default library. Also, more MMOG specific features such as server-to-server communication and a client update range were requested and are planned."
But yeah, they've already planed it.

Watch out with the negative stuff now. I was just threatened with deletion from the forums because I said that email support was no help (they are being helpful now). So be nice because Conitec loves all of it's customers and wants everyone to be successful using their system. I am just trying to reconcile the loss of $1,798.00 for 4 licenses and the 2,880 hours we have paid salaries for in the last 6 months for 3 employees.
Approximately $45,000.00 already invested in this engine only to be told by several of the Senior Members on the forums that it won't do MMO. All I want is what is advertised and what I paid for. No threats, just answers. If I wasn't part owner of the company I would have been fired for this fiasco.
Wow where was that quote from?

@Quadraxas: good to hear from you again. Are you telling me the statement from Sajeth was originally from jcl.

@Sajeth: Tell me it isn't so!!!

If that is true, that's really sad and will certainly inhibit growth for their company and is not a real positive indicator of customer rapport. My one attempt to contact jcl directly was met with slightly veiled hostility. Nothing nasty but enough to make me not want to have to bother him again if I don't have to. I know he is a moderator and I hope I don't get in trouble with him again. But hey everybody has bad, grumpy days and as you get older it really does get worse. I am a living testament to that at 62 years old. Especially when you are extremely busy and some wazoo you never heard of is bothering you with a private message trying to be friendly. I totally understand as I have had the same attitude many, many times when I was working hard and as a result have said many things that didn't come out sounding right or was misinterpreted by other people.

Look up my threads over the past few months. You can do a search under my username. I've been through the same things you have over the past two years.

If you read through all that, you'll get a good idea of where this engine and the multiplayer is going. Let me warn you: it ain't pretty.

There is always the fallback to use external dlls.

Use them, create them, or find someone who can make them.
(Its just standard c++ knowledge, so there should be
enough programmers with the nessesary skills available).

Mabye beacuse the demand for multiplayer is simply smaller
than you think.
Even if a lot of people state that they want "massive multiplayer" there
are only very few that seriously use it (or have the skill to use it)
