what is the best way to change the bal pan-direction according to the the position where the bal hits the paddle?

there is a nice variable called bounce, which includes the direction for the bouncing object

Look up "bounce" in the manual. You can use it to implement a bouncing behaviour when the ball hits the paddle.

You can even use the vec_bounce command if you don't want to use traces or collision detection. http://www.conitec.net/beta/vec_bounce.htm
