I have A7 Extra (profile probably still says trial, I just got A7.50 about an hour ago) and I noticed that in MED, I don't get any vertex ticks making modeling difficult, if not impossible. And in WED I don't get the yellow dot on vertices, faces or edges, which I remember from A5 and A6. I can still manipulate edges, faces and vertices but its much more difficult without that dot.

Is there a way to fix this? I looked in preferences and saw the dot was set to be yellow in the 2D views but I don't see a dot at all when I select "Face Move" or "Edge Move" or "Vertex Move"

Alright, i fixed it by changing the Video Out DLL to GXL2DX8A.DLL.

Is there anything I should worry about using a DX8 DLL rather than DX9?

And by changing the dll to GXL2DX8A.DLL, models in the 2d views sometimes don't show up in WED.

So I either deal with models not showing up or I deal with the vertice/edge/face manipulation dots not showing up. Or I constantly changed DLLs which is a hassle.

Is there a better fix?

And as I already said, under the DirectX 9 DLLs, the vertex/edge/face manipulation dot doesn't show up,making level editing more difficult.

This is fixed by using a DirectX 8 DLL, but that causes models to disappear in some of the 2d windows.

If youve recently updated your video card drivers, its a good idea to re-install
DirectX afterwards. (just install over the top, no un-install)
In your position, I would do a directX 9c install now, and try using the
dx9 drivers in both Wed and Med after a reboot.

What video card (and driver versions) are you using? It may be an bug that
reacts badly with your video card.

Hmm, one of those damned Intel "mobile" chipsets.
Usually builtin motherboard/laptop video controllers.
Ive never had much luck with them myself.
I would suggest you re-post this issue in the "Bug Hunt" section.

Best of luck
