I created a new profile on my desktop and realized that Firefox dont creates a new folder. So i deleted the profile again and what was Firefox doing? It deleted all the files on my desktop which were all my work files with more than 1000 hours of work in it. Since i have an file restorer i was able to restore most files but ca 50% of them are unusable and the most important files (.wdl type which were my work files) couldn't be restored.
This is absolutly unacceptable and not my fault so what should i do?

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh -.-

I think this part is the one which tells me what to do but i dont really understand what it means ^^

first time i heard firefox does such a thing :(, it's sad you have lost %50 of your work.

1- you should have making backups regularly, 1000 hours of work is a lot work, anything can happen anytime.

2- try recuva and see if it can rescue your wdl 's www.recuva.com it's free.

Why do you create a Firefox profile on your DESKTOP anyway?

He stored everything on his desktop.

A backup would be easy then. Just backup your desktop.

By the way: I contributed my backup software for free:
http://www.coniserver.net/ubb7/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=115989&page=1

This tool is so fast and overwrites only newer files, so you can use it daily. Often it takes only seconds.

Perhaps he first should learn how to use a computer and then start working with it... wink Just joking, sad you lost your data.

I don't have a homepage, for god's sake!

Storing everything on the desktop... Reminds me of those 50+ people I used to help with their computers.

Anyway... you should have turned off your PC the moment the files were gone and you would have been able to rescue more of the files. Especially running a file recovery program on the same OS and the same hard disk that your files went missing from is completely nuts.

I know I'm always harsh to you, but the truth is the truth - It was your fault by a big extend.

I don't see what's wrong in saving your stuff in your desktop. It's not the best of habits to always save and download everything in there (especially when there's a cool picture underneath, barely visible from all the icons..), but then again your desktop is only a folder in your hard-disk like anything else. It's as safe as in any other folder, imho. Unless of course, firefox decides to go berserk on it..

My condolences, and for the future may I suggest Genie Backup Manager 8
