Hi!
I want to start with modeldesign and noticed that a 17" monitor is too small to work with. But what is the better way?
Two smaller (17") monitors + a video adapter One big monitor (24"?)

I'd go with two 19"> Screens, as you can better assign the application windows to a certain monitor, instead of the 24" where you have to arrange them always by hand.
But it also depends on what kind of work you want to do with them....
Success is walking from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm.

It depends on the software you use. Many modeling tools are just one window. But if you do much painting then it might be cooler to put the tool palette of GIMP as an example at the second monitor.
And keep in mind: If you put all these windows far away from each other then you also have to move the mouse to these positions over longer distances. Maybe you should check that out first.

i also changed from using a 19" and a 21" monitor to just one 24". when using two monitors i had more screen space but having a gap in the middle often was annoying. the 24" monitor is really nice and i wouldn't want to work without it anymore. 30" also would be nice but that's still more for rich people. :p [...] instead of the 24" where you have to arrange them always by hand. you don't have to arrange them manually. if you right click on the taskbar you can tile windows and there are tools which provide much more options for arranging windows.

Also placing the monitors too far apart, makes the mouse be invisible in the gab inbetween Also placing the mousepad too far apart from your keyboard may cause a serious pain in your shoulders But seriously: Did you ever sit down in the first row in the cinema, moving the head during the movie to see everything?
