"Lang ist's her".... cause the last months i have learned new things and new/other software like blender very hard. But now, i can say "it was a good choice".

the bad news: the last few months i haven't continued my project(s).
the good news: now i know blender very well. and now i can continue my work faster than before. Yesterday i started to create the first "real" ship (not a dummie again) but without drawing as a sketch -> direct thinking + direct modeling. The basic is finished, now i have to model the details to generate the normalmap (and the ambient occlution map again).

Here is a link to my first blender-made spaceship (time i used: 3hrs)

[video:youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvZUykprCuM[/video]

Please note, i havent used / drawn a color-map yet. But i'll keep u updated.....

cheers

Ich wollt wissen ob das design deinem eigenen Kopf entsprungen ist oder ob das ein remake von etwas war, dass es schon gab.

Ever tried Blender 2.5? It's alpha, and it crashes every now and then, but other than that it's gotten some great new features and a much better UI layout.

oh,... jetzt leuchtets mir ein laugh
ist alles aus meiner schüssel gefallen wink.
Ich hab so meinen workflow beim modeling, der vom prinzip nicht anders is als das "übliche" handskizzen zeichnen.

Yes, i also use it 1 or 2 times a day (blender 2.5) also to learn the new interface, and to keep up to date. I also learn phyton to make my own plugIns in near future. Are you a blender-fan too?

I love blender, yes grin
Great tool, though I'm not so good at animation. I'm more of a programmer, but I've modeled quite a bit in blender.

the space ship looks so great

Ja, das Programmieren ist schwer und zerreißt einem manchmal den Kopf. Aber dran bleiben ist alles dann kommt man auch weiter.

laugh Funny to write that

After a long time in outland, i am back home ,and now i have (sometimes) time to continue my project.

At the moment i am writeing the streaming function for the endless universe.
Also some nice function to visit planets (also streaming Data).

If the streaming function works well, i'll create a little video to show ho it looks like. (but just with dummy-models)

regards to the forum
