Hi, I'm not shure wher to post my question's!

By the moment I haven't had answer for 3 of my first's posts (or simply an idea)
I'm new in 3DGS and I supose that probably I'm asking in the wrong forum's.

I paste a post I done in "Starting with GameStudio" forum
If it isn't the correct forum, please point me to the right one, thank's.

Hi to all!

Is it as simple as define the x and y for a VIEW in a single instance or I have to have multiple instances each in diferent's coord, matching the Desktop config of the diferent's cards/monitor?

It seems to be the second, connecting each instance via net commands, with the few time I have with 3DGS I reach to see something about starting the engine indicating the monitor but for Profesional edition so (if I don't misunderstood):

Is it posible with comertial edition?

Is it possible to have diferent resolution/deep for each (I do supose yes).

Any ideas, tutorials, docs to see?

thank's

Juan

You can solve this with several methods:

1) Multiple engine instances, each with a different fullscreen monitor (Pro only)
2) Desktop spread over all monitors, multiple engine instances, each with a different borderless window of the size and position of one of the monitors (Commercial and above)
3) Desktop spread over all monitors, single engine instance with one window and multiple views of the sizes and positions of the monitors (all editions)

1) and 2) support different resolutions. 3) only works on a graphics hardware that supports rendering a single DirectX window to several monitors.

thank's very much for your help

I'm in an evaluating phase of your soft and, if i keep working with 3dgs multimonitor support if one of the thing's I'll need.

At the moment, my knowledge of 3dgs is very basic so I will not ask how to do all of this sfuff now. I prefer to work some first, and ask when really needed.

thank's again

Juan
