Hi, Im new to lite-c, but not to programming. ive been programming for 3 years, but not exactly 3D, sometimes i would make 3D games, but most of the time i make 2D (gamemaker, and c++)
I am currently using the free version of lite-c, and i have absolutely no clue how to use it. I DID read the entire lite-c workshop, but all the sources had .wmb files, and since i dont have WED it doesnt really help me at all, so im clueless >.<
Ive searched all over google and this site for another workshop, or tutorial that doesnt require me to have WED but found nothing, and im not willing to buy anything until i make my first game and see how to works. =[

please help because this is one of the most power 3D engines ive used and has so many features like 3D mouse, and physics which would take me months to implement myself in c++/gamemaker frown

btw, if that wasnt clear enough, im just asking for a link to a tutorial/workshop for lite-c which DOESNT require WED at all =/

look at the lite-c workshops on how to display strings or panels etc.

This way you can make applications and games (if you read the bit about sprites), but for 3D you will need to be able to make .wmb files for the levels, and .mdl files for models.

do I NEED wed for it? or can i just load a terrain model, character model, etc and place the coordinates myself? because i tried to do that, but it just shows a black screen, and sometimes i get an error message that says "no level!"

I think so, i have never tried without a level.

But download the trial of gamestudio and then you can experiment more.

Quoting grumpymonkey.

That, or similar, SHOULD be possible.

Are the stand-alone Lite-C versions 'under-tested'?

You do not need a level.

If you got "no level!" then you tried to use the level_load instruction with a .wmb file that doesn't exist or wasn't compiled in WED. Rather, use level_load("filename.HMP/MDL") to load a terrain (HMP for Heightmap and MDL for Model) or level_load(NULL) to load an empty level.

Many free programs can create HMP terrains and Milkshape and a few other modelers can convert most model formats to .mdl.

Since you can't use WED, yes, you will be placing entities with coordinates using the ent_create("filename",vector,action); instruction.
