EVE Online? You dont "kill" asteroids in EVE online, you spend dozens of hours mining them! laugh That's actually what I thought after posting. That leaves Star Sonata then  .

Those are alot of different games. Which ones are most modern? Best graphics? I just got 9800gtx+ and I have room on my board for 2 more to run tri-SLI, and I'm dieing to play all those games I couldn't before. Before you all tell me crysis I hate shooters and I'm looking for a space sim. dead space does look nice but it's a shooter. Thanks anyway. Anyways so which one of those is most like killing astroids, enemy ships, upgrading your own ship, and decent graphics?
God I wish i had time to play them all lol.

try the X series as I said, it is exactly what you are describing here. You start with a small ship and have to do trading, mining or even hunting pirated to get money, you can start bulding fleets and assign them as your "wingmen". You can even build space stations later on and commandeer entire capital ships! And you have a small storyline too  EDIT: But beware, the first one (X - Beyond the Frontiers) is from 1998 so expect crappy graphics, the newer ones (X² and X³) look very nice!)
