Well, it's made of Sprites that are transformed, moved and scaled just to fit this effect.

Hi all! Thx for responses. I've been off the forums for a while but that does not mean, I've not been working on the project. So, it is still in progress and I think it won't be finished earlier than october or november this year. That's just becaue I've got so many great ideas I want to realize. And another factor that steals my time is my job. I spend about 90 hours each week at work. So I don't think it will be done sooner. Currently I'm working on the models and skins. Most of the KI and other routines are completed so the biggest part to do now are graphics. After that sound and the most important part - game balance - will follow. The last part will be the details of the games storyline.
I think I'm on the right way with that because playing the game is already fun even if there are just two types of towers and the graphics and sound are very poor at this stage, the concept seems to work. There are some features - planed and already realized - that I have never seen in other games before. These features will be the parts of the game that are going to make it very unique. I'm sorry that I can not tell you anything about that. But I'm afraid of copyists - so I will keep it secret for some while.
In the next days I'm going to show you some new screens and/or models.

Hm... so for the lightning effect, you switch files/images very fast and transform them? I like that part the most. With a nice sound, that'll be a great effect:). I also like the terrain. Good to hear you're still on this, looks like it's going to be a nice little game! Looking forward to more screens

Hm... so for the lightning effect, you switch files/images very fast and transform them? Exactly. It's an easy effect that looks realy nice. I used not more than four sprites. I like that part the most. With a nice sound, that'll be a great effect:). I also like the terrain. Thx! Good to hear you're still on this, looks like it's going to be a nice little game! Took some new screens of the laser tower which is now called EoR ("Eye of Rage"):  EoR under construction  EoR frying enemy  EoR with some upgrades ready to fire  EoR heavily upgraded and shooting Please send some comments over to let me know what's positive and negative... Any opinion is welcome!

If any oppinion's welcome, here you go: ( :P )
-The last screen rocks. How do you do that? don't know if it looks as great in 3d/in motion, but on the screen, it looks beautiful. Reminds me of Sauron's eye in Lord of the Ring. -The tower looks way too bright to me. Maybe play with a shader? Shadows are nice though. -There's too much of a contrast between the terrain and the tower at the bottom of the tower (see last screen). Adding a bit of dirt to the bottom (on the tower's texture) would make it look much better, I believe. Also, the tower's texture is very precise, high-res, while the terrain's rather blurry, which increases that contrast.
-Do the bars on the side of the tower show when it's realoading/ready to fire/firing or when it's upgrading? If so, very well done. Looks great!!
Nice work, I also like the tower's upgrades a lot!
